BATAVIA, Ohio — A small plane crash-landed during takeoff at Clermont County Airport late Saturday morning with two people aboard, a flight instructor and a trainee, according to reports. Their conditions could not be confirmed.
Central Joint Fire-EMS District crews from Stations 10 and 11 were dispatched to the airport at 2001 Sporty’s Drive at about 10:43 a.m. for an aircraft accident, with additional engine and medic units responding, dispatch records show.
The plane had two people on board, an instructor and a trainee, according to reports, which described it as looking more like a crash landing than the serious crash the first dispatch suggested. No information about their conditions was available.

The airport, in Batavia, is home to Sporty’s Pilot Shop and its flight operations. J News Network will update this story as officials release more information.
