J News Network adheres to the Associated Press Statement of News Values and Principles, including its most recent updates. These are the standards we hold ourselves to:
Accuracy above all. We do not publish rumor, speculation, or unverified claims as fact. When we make an error, we correct it promptly and transparently. Quotations are accurate and precise. Photographs and video are never staged, distorted, or manipulated in ways that mislead.
Fairness and independence. We report the news impartially, without fear or favor. We avoid conflicts of interest and any activity that could compromise our ability to report fairly. We keep an appropriate professional distance from the people and institutions we cover.
Sources and honesty. We identify our sources whenever possible. We grant anonymity only when a source insists for a valid reason, provides vital information that cannot be obtained any other way, and is reliable and in a position to know. We do not plagiarize, and we respect copyright.
No deception. We do not misrepresent who we are to get a story. When we seek an interview, we identify ourselves as journalists.
Separation of news and advertising. Advertising on our platforms is clearly identified, and our commercial activities are kept separate from our newsroom.
Artificial intelligence. AI tools may assist our journalists with research, transcription, translation, suggested headlines, and copyediting — but every AI-assisted output is reviewed and edited by a journalist before publication. AI does not replace reporting, sourcing, editorial judgment, or verification. We prohibit the use of generative AI to create, alter, or enhance news photography. When generative AI plays a material role in published content, we disclose it.
Effective October 8, 2026.
