CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Ross County voters with developmental disabilities who vote in person Tuesday can request accessibility accommodations that help them cast a ballot privately and independently, according to the Pioneer Center / Ross County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
In an Election Day post, the agency said the Disability Bill of Rights and the Ohio Revised Code protect the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities to participate in the voting process and stay informed about issues that affect their communities.
“Did you know when voting in person, individuals with disabilities have the right to request accessibility accommodations to help them vote privately and independently?” the agency wrote.
Voters can learn more about voting accommodations and their rights in vote.gov’s guide to voting with a disability. Ross County voters can also look up their voting precinct and view a sample ballot through the Ross County Board of Elections.
Polls in Ohio close at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
