GREENFIELD, Ohio — The Village of Greenfield will hold a Dumpster Day on Saturday, Nov. 14, giving residents a chance to get rid of large items that do not fit in weekly trash pickup, the village said.
The dumpsters will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on South Washington Street, next to the railroad tracks. Residents must show proof of residency — a photo ID and a Greenfield water bill — to use them, according to the village.
Computers, batteries, tires and items containing freon will not be accepted, and empty paint cans must be fully dried before they can be dumped, the village said. The event is meant for large materials that will not fit in regular garbage cans, not routine household trash.
Trees and shrubs are permitted as long as they are bound and tied, and mattresses should be placed next to the dumpsters rather than inside them, according to the village.
Elderly or disabled residents who need large items picked up instead of hauling them to the site must call the village by noon on Thursday, Nov. 12, to be placed on the pickup schedule. Residents with questions can contact the village at 937-981-3500.
