WELLSTON, Ohio — Adena Health’s new health center in Wellston opens this month, a facility nearly 8,600 square feet — more than four times the size of the clinic it replaces — at 2 East A Street.
Adena Health Center–Wellston brings family medicine for patients of all ages under one roof with an on-site full-service pharmacy offering drive-thru pickup. The health system says its previous Wellston clinic, open since 2015, had outgrown its space and its ability to meet patient demand.
The center offers primary care including annual physicals, pediatric care, sports physicals, immunizations, chronic disease management and treatment of common illnesses and minor injuries. The pharmacy is open to the public.
The project came together through a collaboration between Adena and the Jackson County Economic Development Partnership, with funding support from the Appalachian Regional Commission and backing from the Ohio Department of Development, the City of Wellston and the Jackson County Board of Commissioners, according to Adena.
“We began looking at opportunities to expand our services in Wellston back in 2020, so to see this becoming a reality is special for us,” Adena president and CEO Jeff Graham said when the project was announced.
The center’s hours are Monday through Wednesday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 8 to 11 a.m. Appointments: 740-384-7300.
