GREENFIELD, Ohio — Greenfield will celebrate Halloween across two evenings this year: a parade and downtown trick-or-treating Oct. 27, followed by a separate community trick-or-treat night Oct. 29.
The Paint Creek Joint EMS & Fire District’s Halloween parade starts at 5 p.m. Oct. 27, staging at the school on Fifth Street. The Mother’s Club costume contest follows the parade, and downtown businesses will hand out candy until 9 p.m., the village said.
On Oct. 29, trick-or-treating runs from 6 to 8 p.m. — a neighborhood night, with businesses sitting out, unlike the downtown event two days earlier.
The district, headquartered in Greenfield, staffs round-the-clock fire, rescue and EMS coverage across more than 360 square miles in Highland, Fayette and Ross counties.
