CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Families looking for a safe Halloween outing can head to the U.S. Paper Mill parking lot on Tuesday, Oct. 20, when Homeland Credit Union and the mill host a free community trunk-or-treat.
The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 100 E. 8th St. and will offer trick-or-treating among decorated vehicles, music from a live DJ, and food trucks on site. Admission is free, and organizers encourage attendees to come in costume.
Local businesses, community organizations, and individuals can register their own vehicles to hand out candy at no charge. The best-decorated vehicle of the night will take home a $500 cash prize.
“Trunk or Treat events provide a safe and enjoyable way for families to celebrate Halloween while bringing together local businesses, organizations, and community members,” said Briana Hood, Homeland Credit Union’s director of marketing and community development. “We look forward to seeing the creativity of our trunk participants and creating lasting memories for local families.”
