CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Pickaway-Ross officials announced Tuesday morning that the school received another bomb threat, prompting a law enforcement response and a sweep of the campus before students arrived.
According to school officials, the latest threat was received early Tuesday, Oct. 13, and repeated the same message as previous threats targeting the school.
Ross County sheriff’s deputies responded to the campus and conducted a building sweep. School officials said additional security checks and campus monitoring were completed, and law enforcement determined there was no threat.
The building was subsequently cleared as safe.
Despite the latest incident, Pickaway-Ross will operate on its normal schedule Tuesday.
School administrators acknowledged the growing concern surrounding the repeated threats.
“We understand that these repeated threats are stressful for students and families,” officials said in a statement. “We are working closely with law enforcement and following our safety procedures to ensure our campus is safe before students arrive.”
Officials emphasized that student and staff safety remains their highest priority and that all established safety protocols were followed.
No information was immediately provided about who may be responsible for the threats or whether any suspects have been identified.
This is a developing story. J News Network will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
