CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A driver unfamiliar with downtown Chillicothe was cited Tuesday after going the wrong way down a one-way street and causing a two-vehicle crash that sent the other driver to the hospital, according to the Chillicothe Police Department.
Officers responded around 3:21 p.m. to the 100 block of East 4th Street, where they found that Linda Ross had been traveling eastbound against traffic and struck a westbound vehicle driven by Marvin Woodfork Jr., police said in their daily media report.
Ross told officers she did not know the area and had not realized East 4th was one way, police said. Woodfork complained of back and neck pain and was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center. Ross was not hurt and was cited for a one-way street violation, with a court date set for Oct. 16 in Chillicothe Municipal Court.
The crash was one of several calls officers handled Tuesday. Police also worked an improper-turn crash at North Bridge and Arch streets in the morning and a two-vehicle wreck at Commanche Road and Fairway Avenue around midday, took a theft report connected to Chillicothe High School in the evening, and made a warrant arrest late at night while investigating a domestic dispute on East Main Street, the department said.
