CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Scioto Township Fire Department has placed Assistant Chief Nathaniel T. Freeman on unpaid administrative leave following his arrest and the filing of criminal charges against him.
Fire Chief Rick Ray said the department is aware of the arrest and charges involving Freeman and is fully cooperating with the appropriate authorities.
“Mr. Freeman has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the legal process,” Ray said.
The chief said the department takes the allegations seriously but declined to comment further because the case remains an active legal matter.
“Our department remains committed to serving the residents of Scioto Township with professionalism, accountability, and integrity,” Ray said.
Freeman’s administrative status will remain in effect pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.
