TOLEDO, Ohio — A locomotive and two rail cars derailed Thursday near East Manhattan Boulevard and New York Avenue in Toledo, and a stretch of East Manhattan Boulevard will stay closed for an estimated two to three days, according to the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department.
The department reported no injuries and no hazardous materials spills in an incident update issued Thursday evening.
East Manhattan Boulevard is closed between New York Avenue and Wallace Boulevard while the derailment is cleared, according to the department.
The department did not announce a cause for the derailment, and it did not identify the railroad involved. The closure estimate of two to three days was the department’s, and it could change as cleanup work proceeds.
