CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — President Donald Trump will hold a rally in Chillicothe on Wednesday, Oct. 28, less than a week before the Nov. 3 midterm elections, according to the Republican National Committee.
Doors for the rally open at 3:30 p.m., with the program set to begin at 5:30 p.m. and Trump scheduled to speak at 7 p.m., according to the Republican National Committee. The rally will be held at the Shoemaker Center on the Ohio University Chillicothe campus, 101 University Drive, organizers announced Monday. The event is free, but guests must RSVP, according to the announcement.
The Chillicothe stop will be Trump’s fourth visit to the state and region in a matter of weeks, following rallies in Youngstown, Dayton and northern Kentucky.
Ohio voters will decide a U.S. Senate race between Republican Sen. Jon Husted and Democrat Sherrod Brown, and a governor’s race between Republican Vivek Ramaswamy and Democrat Amy Acton, on Nov. 3. Early voting is already underway in Ohio.
The Shoemaker Center holds about 2,400 spectators. Chillicothe police say drivers should expect heavier traffic and some road closures around the campus on Wednesday; the specific closures have not been announced. Southern Ohio Career Academy has announced an early dismissal at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday because of the anticipated traffic and road closures.
