“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and best friend,” the family said.

Born Dec. 13, 1954, and raised in Apopka, Florida, Anderson moved to Nashville after high school and signed with Warner Bros. Records in 1980. He broke through with “Wild and Blue” and the 1983 hit “Swingin’,” which earned him the Country Music Association’s Single of the Year and Horizon awards. After his commercial momentum faded, he roared back in the early 1990s with “Straight Tequila Night,” “Money in the Bank,” “When It Comes to You” and his signature “Seminole Wind.”
