CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — An Army veteran from Ross County will enter the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame this fall after being selected for the 2026 class, the Ohio Department of Veterans Services announced.
John W. Tepper is one of 20 veterans from 14 counties chosen for this year’s class, which recognizes former service members whose accomplishments and community contributions continued after military service.
The Hall of Fame was established in 1992 by former Gov. George Voinovich. With the 2026 class, it will include 1,014 inductees.
“Congratulations to each honoree who has served our country honorably and has continued their commitment to service, leadership and community,” Gov. Mike DeWine said. “Their dedication to improving the lives of others continues to strengthen Ohio and inspire us all. We thank them for their contributions and lifetime of service to others.”
Department of Veterans Services Director John C. Harris Jr. said notifying the honorees was an honor, praising their humility and dedication and “the highest standards of service.”
The 35th annual induction ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Ohio Union, 1739 N. High St., on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus. The ceremony is open to the public.
