Athens County Deputies Respond to Protection Order Report, Missing Teen, and Dispute

ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio — Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies handled three calls for service on Thursday, including an alleged protection order violation, a report of a missing teenager and a dispute in New Marshfield.

According to the sheriff’s office’s calls for service log, deputies received a report at approximately 8:06 a.m. Thursday regarding an alleged violation of a protection order in The Plains.

Deputies spoke by phone with an individual who reported the alleged violation while visiting Athens County. A report was taken, and the investigation remains ongoing. The case was listed as open and active.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Cherry Street in Glouster for a report of a missing or runaway juvenile.

The juvenile was located and returned home to their parents, according to the sheriff’s office. The case was listed with an unknown disposition.

Later that evening, at approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies responded to Depot Street in New Marshfield for a reported dispute.

Deputies spoke with the caller and determined that the involved parties had separated before law enforcement arrived. The case was subsequently closed.

The log listed three total records for Thursday, Aug. 13.
