The Ohio Department of Agriculture says it helped secure more than $11 million in federal Resilient Food System Infrastructure Grants for 24 food-processing projects in communities across Ohio.
The department said the money, awarded with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will help food processors around the state expand capacity and distribution, benefiting both companies and consumers.

The department announced the grants in a post on its Facebook page Friday morning. The announcement did not name the 24 projects or their locations.
The Resilient Food System Infrastructure program is a federal program administered in Ohio by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. It funds projects in the middle of the food supply chain — the processing and distribution steps between farms and stores.
