GREENFIELD, Ohio — Investigators seized or disabled 63 suspected illegal slot machines and an undisclosed amount of cash at a Highland County business, according to the Ohio Casino Control Commission.

The commission said it worked with the Highland County Sheriff’s Office to serve a search warrant at a business at 11939 State Route 753 in Greenfield. The commission announced the operation Oct. 29 and said investigators acted after receiving complaints that the business was operating gaming machines in violation of state law.

The commission did not name the business in its release, did not disclose how much cash was recovered, and did not say whether anyone had been arrested or charged. The investigation remains ongoing, according to the commission.

“We appreciate the Highland County Sheriff’s Office partnering with the OCCC to ensure an effective operation that shut down this illegal gambling site,” Andromeda Morrison, the commission’s interim executive director, said in the release.

The Greenfield operation is part of a broader statewide enforcement effort, according to the commission, which said it has served search warrants at more than 203 locations across Ohio and seized or disabled more than 8,870 illegal slot machines. The commission regulates Ohio’s four casinos, skill-based amusement machines, fantasy contests and sports gaming.
