CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ohio — A 30-year-old Galion man was arrested Thursday on a charge of pandering obscenity involving a minor after investigators examined electronic devices seized under a search warrant, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said Zachary Robert Hammons, 30, was arrested Oct. 23 and taken to the Crawford County Justice Center, where he is being held on charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor.
The arrest followed a search warrant the sheriff’s office executed Aug. 11 at 5972 Galion New Winchester Road in Galion in reference to child pornography, according to the sheriff’s office. Multiple electronic items were taken as evidence in that search, and a subsequent search warrant was obtained for those devices, the sheriff’s office said.
Child pornography was discovered while investigators went through the devices, according to the sheriff’s office.
A report will be forwarded to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of additional charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Scott Kent, Lt. Moser and Detective Winkelman encourage citizens to report suspicious activity to the sheriff’s office at (419) 562-7906, or to leave a tip on the Sheriff app or the METRICH app, according to the release.
