PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — A man has been arrested in connection with the 2022 killing of Chad Sissel in Portsmouth, police announced Monday.
The Portsmouth Police Department said Fabio LJ Campa was indicted by a Scioto County grand jury on charges of aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
Sissel was killed Oct. 29, 2022, in an alley behind 1225 Linden Avenue in Portsmouth, according to police.
Authorities said Portsmouth Police Detective Shepherd identified Campa as a suspect following a lengthy investigation. The case was later presented to the grand jury by the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police said Campa was living in Georgia when the secret indictments were returned. He has since been arrested and is being held in the Scioto County Jail.
Campa is expected to be arraigned at a later date in Scioto County Common Pleas Court.
The Portsmouth Police Department thanked those who assisted with the investigation and asked anyone with additional information about the case to contact Detective Shepherd at 740-354-1600.
The charges are allegations. Campa is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
