Deputies say Devon Andrew Knisley was taken into custody after allegedly becoming combative and damaging a sheriff’s cruiser.
HIGHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — A Highland County man is facing disorderly conduct and vandalism charges after deputies say he kicked out the rear window of a patrol cruiser following an incident Thursday night.
The Highland County Sheriff’s Office said a passerby called authorities at about 8:55 p.m. Oct. 2 after seeing a man walking in the roadway in the 3000 block of Anderson Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, the man was seen walking along the ditch line, screaming and eventually falling to the ground. He then reportedly got back up and ran toward a home in the 3600 block of Anderson Road before going behind the residence.
Deputies arriving at the scene found the man lying in a yard, authorities said.
The sheriff’s office alleges the man, later identified as Devon Andrew Knisley, told a deputy he wanted to fight him and became uncooperative, yelling and cursing at deputies. He was then taken into custody.
While deputies were speaking with witnesses, Knisley allegedly kicked out the back window of a sheriff’s cruiser.
Knisley was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and creating a risk of harm, a violation of Ohio Revised Code 2917.11, and vandalism involving a government entity under ORC 2909.05.
The sheriff’s office also said Knisley was already out on bond following a domestic violence charge.
